I don't want to be stuck washing clothes every night, but otherwise I agree that less is better.

There is absolutely no way I could do that but if it works for them, great!
My dad and a friend did something similar back in the late 50s. They went around the world with one change of clothing each (his shorts, for reasons I never learned, were leather) and he told stories about washing shirts, socks and underwear in the sink at night and how often they ended up wearing wet stuff because it was so humid in India and Asia that nothing would dry.
San Juan anyone? Old City and/or fort information?
