Many of you know about the 8 Tuff Miles Race coming up on February 26th on St. John. But did you know that Moe Chabuz, Owner of Skinny Legs is once again using the race to support Team River Runner - We are asking you to pledge a small amount for every runner that Moe passes on race day.

A bit of background on Team River Runner:

This will be our fifth year of offering a week of therapeutic adventure recreation activities on the island for wounded veterans. We chose St. John for this program because it offers a plethora of opportunities.

•A warm inviting tropical environment
•Crystal clear water good for kayaking, swimming and snorkeling
•A friendly community willing to support the vets
•Cinnamon Bay with it’s user friendly camping environment right on the water and next-door to Cinnamon Bay Watersports

Because of the continued growth of TRR and the number of vets we serve, we are no longer able to support our national trip as we have done previously. Each TRR trip must provide its own funding. The Virgin Island program has the added burden of expensive transportation. Although the outpouring support from the community has encouraged us, we still fall short of our goal of a self sustaining program.

In order to bring 20 wounded veterans on the trip to St. John in November 2011, we need to raise at least $30,000. Can you support Moe and our vets with a donation??

Here's how you can help:

Decide how much you would like to pledge for each runner that Moe passes on race day. After the race, go to the Skinny Legs website to see how he did and how much your donation will be.

Check out the Skinny Legs website below to see how Moe did last year and make a pledge for this year - be sure to check out all the amazing photos of those helped by the trip in 2010.

Visit the Team River Runner site and click on donate - make a note within the payment screen to indicate you would like your donation to go towards the USVI trip.

Or, send a check directly to Team River Runner, 5007 Stone Rd, Rockville, MD 20853 (with a note that the donation is for the USVI trip)

I am happy to answer any questions or find the answers to any questions you might have. I hope you will support this wonderful event and our wounded warriors!

You all might be annoyed with me by week's end, but I am bumping this up again. I feel it is very important to show our support to our veterans!
