Interesting article about airline fees. I'm thinking Spirit didn't make the list because they're not among the airlines with the highest revenue?

Found this comment funny, well...not too funny since I will be flying Spirit in April! :)I just may have to get on that plane wearing my bathing suit and a fistful of cash! :)

"What? Where is Spirit Airline in this? The only thing they don't charge is your breathing and to use the toilet. They charge for blanket, headphone, water, god forbid if you want to eat. They were charging baggage way before other airline. I hope they go bankrupt."

LOL..I hope they dont go out of business either, we have them booked for May and for June. Im glad something is posted though as far as what other airlines have made and what they charge...IMO..Spirit always get a bad rap as far as extra charges and being late...which we all know...just about every airline has charges and fees and sometimes late arrivals..and cancellations...unfortunately its part of traveling..:(

Thanks for posting !!!

US Air just raised their checked bag fee to $90 for bags over 50lbs. A $20 jump. It's cheaper to ship something ahead.

I am seriously surprised that Spirit did not make #1 no one but Spirit charges for carry on. And I am just waiting for them to charge for using the restroom. I just want Southwest to go to STT!!! Can we say direct flight from Panama City! :D :D  Shoot, I would love to just stop in Ft. Lauderdale with out having to go to Baltimore first!

I wish I could do only carry-on but I can't. All our camping gear has to be packed! Besides, Spirit apparently charges for carry-on anyways. But I will take the advice of others and pack half the clothing! :)My tickets were so inexpensive that I guess I have to expect some hidden fees somewhere...I'm wondering if I really have to pay for seat assignment before or if they will just put us together anyways????

I have never flown Spirit but I sure hope they don't go out of business. When they stopped flying to Turks and Caicos, Delta fares to there went up by more than double. If Spirit stops flying to STT I might not be able to afford another St John vacation.

I can't tell you how many times I've thought the same thing!
