are prices there comparable to starfish? what about the wine store?
any info appreciated--I think since we'll probably be waiting around for te 6 oclock boat we might as well get some stuff while we're there

I think the food is a little cheaper than Starfish. I don't remember the wine being cheaper though. I know we have poked around in the wine shop but we have never actually bought anything unless we are staying on St. Thomas.

I've never shopped at Starfish, but I can tell you that I was impressed by Marina Market. They have a good selection of groceries and great selection of meats as well!

I have never shopped Starfish but I have never seen many things cheaper on STJ than STT overall.
Marina Mkt has some great selections and is steps from the ferry -- I often see STJ shoppers come over just for a few dinner meats or fish. The wine store across the parking lot has excellent prices.
If you have the time Costuless is really worth it too should you have an STT rental car.

The Food Center, down the street from the Marina Market, has a surprisingly good wine selection and is a good store to get your general provisions, while we like getting fish, meats and specialty items at the Marina Market.

We always stop at The Food Center first for good prices on bottled water, general provisions, and rum. Once we're on St. John we'll always end up hitting Starfish or St. John Market for produce, meat/fish, cheeses, though.
