Paying it forward for the Neat Sheet

Several years ago this forum introduced us to the Neat Sheet. We have been using our same Neat Sheet for years on beach trips and it is incredible.

Although we like to spend many hours at the beach, we often get 'burned out' literally from the sun. Some beaches have shady spots and some not so much.

I just purchased a Grand Trunk Cielo Shelter from Amazon and it is like a mini tent. It has room enough for a couple of chairs. the floor is removable so it really just provides nice shade. The design is really nice as it pops up and down. The leg supports are hinged so there is no fitting pieces together to make it work. It's light weight at 4 lbs and will fit in a larger piece of luggage. It comes in its own duffle bag that has a nice carrying strap.

The cost at $37 made it worth a try. Just received it and cannot believe how easy it is to set up and take down. It also has little bags sewn on to each corner that you fill with sand and bury to keep stable.

it will be worth it if we can extend our days at the beach. Thank you for introdcuing us to the Neat Sheet. Hopefully the beach shelter will be of interest to some.

How big is it when it's flat for packing? This sounds awesome. BTW, I have moved beyond the neat sheet to parasheet. It's even better than neat sheet!

What a great idea for those of us who love the beach, but needs lots of shade. Thanks for posting.

I love the parasheet also. We tried them both and favor the parasheet. It dries a bit quicker.

The length once folded down is 28". We have a 26" suitcase and it will fit diagonally across the bottom. Because it has its own duffle bag for storage we are considering carrying it on instead of packing.

It's funny to see that the parasheet is made by the same company as the beach shelter, Grand Turk. I love the pocket corners of the parasheet that can be filled with sand to hold it in place. The neat sheet has small weights around the perimeter, but we always end up having to add rocks to hold it down. Think we'll be adding the parasheet to our beach arsenal!

I have friends going in March for their first visit to the rock. I am going to suggest this to them as they are a little concerned about the lack of shade. This sounds perfect. Thanks for the information.

LOL - seeing this topic pop up on twitter reminded me that I needed to pick up a new neat sheet for our May trip. Wanted to check out the parasheet as well. Typed it in... went to Amazon and what pops up as "customers who bought this item, also bought" - Feet Fins & Four Wheel Drive!

Wish I had that thing all the years my kids played outdoor soccer :?
Question....why take the floor out? Wouldn't it keep some of the sand at bay? Just wondering...Looks like a really great item to have..and also the parasheet...
Another question...Would you use that alot at the beaches on STJ? We usually stay on other islands and haven't ever needed any shade items..just wondering if we would really use it while staying on STJ?
