Reading about getting meat at the marina market... sounds great. If I buy some meat at the Marina Market (just a bag or 2) and take it on the Red Hook ferry, do they charge me for taking the bags on the ferry?

If you have it in a carry on bad, I don't see why not.

When we go over to STJ, we take a beach bad and our snorkel gear and never had a problem

Great plan.... They won't charge you on the ferry as long as you are carrying it with you...

Cool! I want to eat in some to make the trip a little more affordable and am always looking for the best ways to do it.

Where is the marina market in comparison to the red hook ferry dock? Is it less expensive than if we buy necessities on St John? Thanks everyone.

Marina market is right across the street from the Red Hook dock. I don't think it is that much less expensive than the markets on St. John, but they do have a better selection of meats, as well as breads.
