My boss needs a place to meet someone for lunch while he will be at Fort Dix. Anyone near there with a recommendation?

Suggest you go to www.maps.google.com
Enter Wrightstown, NJ 08562 in search box, hit Search Maps button. After map comes up, hit “Find businesses” tab. Type in “restaurants”. Click “Search Businesses” tab. That should give you some results.

Also search nearby towns shown on map, like Jobstown or more specifically, what side of the base they will be on (when combined with McGuire AFB next door, its pretty big).

I would stick to any of the Jersey diners that might pop up in the area - not glamorous, but fits the bill for most and less of a wild card in that part of the state with something for every kind of taste in those multipage menus, plus "All Baking Done on Premises" and "Breakfast Anytime"!

Well after reading the rest of the posts I am sure its Fort Dix NJ.....Thats not too far from the Freehold area. Downtown Freehold has some good restuarants. The Metropolitan Cafe is good, if its a burger and a beer stop by the Court Jester. If they dont mind much of a further ride, there is a Great Italian place in Marlboro, NJ Sam Vera. Its right on 520 just outside of Freehold. Hope that helped...

I did try google maps first and came up with a list of places but I could not find a web site for a single restaurant.

He will be there for a tournament with his kids and will be meeting an old friend and just wanted to find a decent family type restaurant. I guess they don't like to advertise on the Net.

Freehold does have great restaurants but I wouldn't exactly call it close by. Sounds like he would want to stay closer to the turnpike.

I don't know the area well either but try going to Chowhound.com and follow the link to the boards and post in"Mid-Atlantic" You should get some answers there.

I live about 20-30 minutes away from Fort Dix...I can honestly tell ya that there isn't too much around there as it is stuck in the middle of the good 'ole Jersey Pine Barrens....the home of the Jersey Devil!!! If looking at a map, he may try to go out (west) Route 38 (via County Route 539)or 70, both towards Route 206 - there are a ton of diners around those cross roads. Otherwise, if he continues East on 38 or 70, it brings him closer to the Cherry Hill area where there are your every day places like Fridays, what have you...Good luck.
