Beach for a day

We will be in St. Thomas on Tues. Feb. 15th, from the Carnival Dream, from 10am to 8pm.

What we would like is to go to a beach for about for the afternoon then head to Paradise Point, for sunset and Bushwackers :)

It's a big day for us, as exactly 40 years to the day we arrived in St. Thomas on our Honeymoon. We then stayed at Sapphire Beach. We thought of going back there for the day, but I've ready it's become a little run down and the restaurant and bar, near the beach are not open. Also that restrooms aren't in good condition. Any input?

Any other suggestions? We also wouldn't mind going to someplace that has an all inclusive beach day. I read that Wyndham has this. Anyone know if there are other hotels that do? As we are 40 years older than the last time, we do require chairs and some shade :).

Thank you so much for any help or suggestions.

Why don't you go to Magens Bay for the day? They have NICE bathrooms; chairs to rent; lots of shade, nice snack/food bar and souvenire shop; not to mention the crystal clear calm water. We visit every single year and its one of our favorite days.

That's what I've been considering. How long a ride is it and do you know what the taxi cost is? Do taxis in St. Thomas charge per person or per trip? Are there taxis at Meghan's waiting for a return trip or do you need to prearrange this? Thanks so much.

Have you considered spending the day at Secret Harbour? Lovely beach, wonderful restaurant/bar, lots of shade and sun and great snorkeling. It's about a 30 minute taxi ride from the cruise ship dock.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been there another cruise stop. When we were there we ended up covered with sand flea bites. So I don't hold fond memories. It was a nice place but I doubt we'll go back. SH and Sapphire are the only 2 beaches I've been to in St. Thomas.
