I don't post that often, but I felt I needed to give a shout out to G-Spot Restaurant Between Slim-mans Parking and Larry's Landing Bar. We love their Italian sandwiches, burgers, gyros etc. Always huge, filling, delicious and reasonably priced!!!
I have come down with some sort of bug and not feeling well in paradise (don't feel sorry for me, we live here now). Anyways Jim went to pick up some lunch today and they had Chicken and dumpling soup, OMG, just like my german grandmother would make. The owner makes it from scratch, stock etc, and hand makes the dumplings, taught to him by his german grandmother. I don't have any food porn, as I ate it too quickly :)

ps you can call and order ahead for take out 340-998-1231

Betty---I remember your excellent STJ food reviews from way back. I'm fascinated to hear that you are living on STJ now, at least part-time. If you feel like it, I'm sure many on the Board would enjoy hearing about your new STJ adventure.

Hi Iowaguy We are building a house, south shore, we are located on a small road off of Gifft Hill, our property extends to the very end of Rock Ridge Road, next to Mar de Amores and under Pelicans Perch.
We are living at Grande Bay during construction, my husband is supervising the construction in hopes of avoiding some of the problems others have had with Island building. I keep saying I am going to start a blog but life keeps interrupting. We have excavated the property and we have started building the foundation. We are behind schedule with all the rain we had this fall. The type of home we are buillding is a Deltec, it is a hurricane resistant modular home. http://deltechomes.com/
We are building 2 units with a lanai between. Both buildings will be on a cement basement. We are building a 1500 sq ft and a 500 sq ft, with living space under each.
We bought our property through Les Otis of St John Properties, he is an excellent broker and has become a good friend! He was very patient for over a year while we figured out exactly what we wanted.
My husband loves to show people the property and go over what we are doing, if anyone is visiting the island and wants to check out our property/construction, don't hesitate to PM me and we would love to meet with you.
If I ever get my act together, I will start a blog and you can follow our adventure.

So THAT'S where it is.
I'm betting that joke has been told a million.5 times.

Seriously though, I'll plan to give it a try for lunch.
