Caneel Bay room recommendations

We'll be on Island late Feb and early March in a villa in Coral Bay and plan to close the trip out with a couple of days at Caneel Bay. It's our first stay at Caneel and we're wondering if anyone has a suggestion on which Garden View Room provides the best privacy and decent access to one of the beaches. LiamsAunt was kind enough to send along her opinion but I thought I'd see if anyone else had any thoughts before I contact Caneel with a room request.
Any other thoughts on how to be utilize our time at Caneel would be appreciated as well.
Thanks

Last May we stayed in Rm 134. It was quiet and our room was very large. This year we have elected to stay in an Ocean View room.
Here's the link to the propery map

My suggestion is to turn in your Jeep and just enjoy exploring the property while you are there. I can't wait to get back to Scott Beach. It doesn't get much better than that IMHO.
You will be hooked like we are. It's the perfect way to end your stay on STJ. Be sure to take the Caneel private ferry and taxi back to the aiport on your departure day. It's worth the $$.

Looking at the map, I would think room 100 would be a good choice.

Thanks Diana2: 134 looks good to us, we'll try requesting either 134 or 135 and see if we have any luck.
GraysonDave, thanks for the input, 100 is close to the beach but a bit too close to the main building activities for us, afraid there could be noise we don't want to deal with.
Whichever room they put us in we plan to be on the beach most of the time anyway so it's probably not a major deal breaker one way or the other.
Thanks for the feedback.

In the Garden View category we stayed in room 160 and were very pleased with it. The room itself was perfectly acceptable in size and had a lovely large bathroom w/ stone shower that was unique . You enter the room from one end and have a little deck area on the opposite end overlooking the hillside toward the pool which gets VERY little use.
We liked the quiet location and easy walk to anywhere we wanted to get to. I have to agree that once you get to Caneel you can just spend your time on their property. It's lovely! Snorkeling is good at their beaches and there are plenty to choose from.
I personally would NOT like the room 100 , as there would be a fair number of people wandering around as we did trying to navigate that section. Just not private enough for me.

While the deer and donkeys at Caneel are found throughout the grounds I think they seem to be grazing in groups around the Garden View Rooms in particular. We enjoyed watching them from our deck at Room 134. Other nice thing about Room 134 is the closet space is HUGE and there is a nice big table which we used for our computer. This room also has King bed and a single bed as well.
I suggest you request a refrigerator in your room. We were glad we had a frig for our beer and soda. We also brought some wine, cheese and fruit and some sandwich items which saved us some money while we were there.
You're gonna' LOVE Caneel!!

You will be spoiled.

Definately ask for a fridge. Like someone else mentioned already, we stocked our own wine, beer and snacks for our patio time.
I would probably request 100 because beach access is most important to me. I remember that room having a nice amount of plantings around it, we walked right by it and I don't think you can see the patio from the path.
