Has anyone stayed at Bayview Villa near Coral Bay recently? We've stayed there in 2003 and I'm curious if has been maintained well or updated recently, so a report out from a recent rental would be appreciated. Making plans for an April / May trip...

Thanks...

We stayed there in late Nov early Dec 2009. We liked Bayview. The kitchen and master bath could've use some updating. The kitchen appliances all worked nicely but the fridge exterior shows it's age. We pointed out that the master bdr door needed to be fixed on our exit walk through. Could have used more screens on the east side so that we could use the ceiling fans and cool breezes better. I would say that it has been well maintained but I am guessing that most is the same as you left it in 2003. Are you going to use both bedrooms or just the upstair bedroom?

Thanks - it will be just 2 of us, so we will only use the upper bedroom. Appreciate the information...we had a not so great experience a couple of years ago with a neighboring villa that looked great in the online pics but was in pretty poor shape and in need of maintenance. Wanted to avoid that again.

Good that you will only use the upstairs bedroom. While the downstairs room was alright it seemed dark and had no view except for the pool deck. I guess you know that the location of Bayview is fantastic for not only the views and ease of getting to the north shore beaches and coral bay but also the walk to the smoothie stand!
Hope you have a great visit!

Can you tell me the name of the villa that had the outdated pics? I will be looking in that area for our next trip and want to know which ones to be cautious of.

We stayed at Bayview 3 yrs ago and a lot could have changed since then, but we found it rather tired. Here are the pix I took.

My own personal negative opinions are that the downstairs bedroom had fleas in the bed (but you're not using that one, so no worries), the patio furniture on the Coral Bay side deck was sad (check the picture of the little wicker loveseat with the 2x4 base), if you have kids be aware that all of the kitchen knives are positioned low in a rack on a butcher block cart, so not safe for little ones, and I didn't like having to traverse all those stairs up from the pool every time I needed a refill from the blender! But I could be described as lazy, too! Find out if they ever fixed the pool light...I bet it still doesn't work.

Good things abound, as well. Bayview may have the most fabulous views ever! Francis Bay on one side of the house and Coral Bay on the other side. And I loved that we could walk to the smoothie truck and had great access to the best beaches! :D

Good luck with your decision!

We stayed in Bayview several years ago and share the same opinion as CalifGirl. Its a tired villa, but useable. We had trouble with the plumbing in the upstairs bedroom bathroom working properly and noticed that several people made comments about plumbing issues in the guest book. The views from both decks are really wonderful and we love the mid-island location because it seemed close to everything.
If you do a search on Bayview, there are some forumites, Bob and Anita, who have stayed there several times, I think. They did a very nice trip report with pictures so you can get a good feel for what it looks like.

Bayview has very nice views out of the front and back of the villa. We spent a week there about ten years ago and it was a tired property then. There are many villas around Coral Bay with just as good or better views that are well maintained and in the same price range. Why not pick something else?
