And people wonder why we don't like Wharfside and Grand Bay....

An interesting older view of Cruz Bay - luckily 40+ years of progress have beautified that barren landscape.
Thank You both, for taking the time to post these cards.

I find it interesting that St. John is labeled as St. Johns in the second post card (twice).

"St. John's" was fairly interchangeable with "St. John" until the 1970s or so. You will find many older St. Thomanians and Crucians saying it, along with "St. Croyix"---and of course, the only correct way to pronounce our neighbor to the north is JOST, not YOST...no idea where the "Y" sound came from....

What strikes me about that photo:
Look at how few boats are in the bay.

The landscape looks so flat. I think that's because the buildings there now are terraced so they show the height more.

45 years...it's funny to look anywhere and see the differences in landscapes over such a time.

Wonderful, thanks for sharing the photo from 1964.
Way groovy.
"The Four Seasons" movie isn't quite that old, but I love watching the actors enjoy the serenity of that bay...
What was the name again...?
