Okay, surely I am not the ONLY one that buys special products that I only use when I go to St. John. Yes, I am one of the obsessed (aren't we all?) that like to think about and plan my trip for months. Part of that for me is amassing the "perfect" island collection to take with me.

Here are my island-gotta-haves:
Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena Shower Gel
Clairol Herbal Essences Coconut Milk & Orchid shampoo & conditioner
Tree Hut coconut lime shea body butter
Island perfume by Michael Kors
Chanel Ruban Perle in Sunlight (amazing creamy bronzer that can be put on eyes and lips)
Smashbox O-glow (clear gel that creates a natural blush on your cheeks)
Neutrogena Moisture Shine lip soother
Bobbi Brown Beach leave-in conditioner

What are your favorites? Boys can play too, we know you guys have stuff you like as much as we girls do, you just don't want other guys to know!

Unfortuantely mosquitoes and noseeums REALLY, REALLY like me, so anything with a scent is out of the question :(

Before our trips to STJ, I stock up on unscented soap, unscented shampoo and conditioner, unscented deodorant, etc...not nearly as fun as the stuff you buy

I am the exact same way. I usually bring unscented lotions, soap, deoderant, etc. with me to St. John, but I still get bit. When I am back here in NJ in the summertime, I do enjoy wearing Island by Michael Kors. The "Hawaii" smells really good too I may have to buy...

Here is my STJ list:
Johnson and Johnson spray in hair detangler. My hair gets super snarled while snorkeling. This stuff allows me to actually drag a comb through it, and it does not smell like anything.
Rusk “Wired” hair goop. Keeps the frizzies at bay without feeling heavy.
Aveda Rosemary-Mint shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturizer. The mint feels great on your skin after a day in the sun. John likes this stuff too.
Clinique spray-on sunscreen in spf 30. OK to use on the face, not sticky, dries quickly
A chap stick with spf 15 minimum in it. Nothing worse than burned lips!
For when I’m not in the water: Bare minerals with spf 15. This isn’t strong enough for me though, so I apply the clinique 30 first and then the minerals.
Waterproof mascara!
Clinique bronzer. I don’t like to tan at all, so use a little of this here and there for a very light glow. Most bronzers are way too dark for me, but this one works.
Aloe vera gel, in the fridge for extra relief!
Finally, I don’t actually use them, but I LOVE the smell of the products at Caneel Bay. They have a coconut shampoo, and a mango-melon moisturizer, plus a bar of soap that I forgot the flavor of. I take them home with me, keep them in a drawer, and crack the bottle for a sniff when I want to go back to St. John in my head.

I love the Caneel stuff too! I just used the last of it. Time to go back :)

I am with you Mary Beth. Last visit, my husband mentioned to the maid that I liked the products. She delivered an entire laundry bag full of soaps, lotions and bath gels a short time later.

I ration it!

I second the Bath & Bodyworks Coconut Lime Verbana product line. I try ONLY to use it on STJ. That way, whenever I smell it, I think of STJ!

I also use the Bullfrog sunscreen line. I'm very very very very very very pale and this line of sunscreen is very waterproof. I also like that it is not oily at all.

Just in case I do get a burn, I use a combo of Aloe gel and ibuprofen. Aloe gel is so good for the skin and not greasy at all!

These aren't really beauty products, but...

Altho i live in sunny Arizona, i usually go to the tanning salon for 1 month prior to the big trip (which now is 35 working days and counting down). I find this tuffins the hide and allows for much more freedom beaching, boating & such without worrying about burning your hide. I know people say its bad for your skin, but i've been doing this for 25 years and no problems so far. I figure tan cellulite looks much better than white cellulite! Also, i use a self tanner on my face so i don't look 2-tone.

Whiten those teeth! Nuthin looks finer than white teeth with a ssssmmooookkin tan to me. Makes me feel good too!

Polarized sunglasses, i prefer Rayban. Don't leave home without 'em. They also help in spotting sea turtles coming up for air while your sitting on the beach.

An absolute must, must, must girls. Virtually anything from Sloop Jones http://www.sloopjones.com
I can't live without my short tank dresses (one in mango man & blue guad). They are great! You can rinse them out, hang to dry, cotton so they are not super hot. Plus you'll look like a local! Absolutely love them and live in them when i'm there. These cover ups in combination with THE tackiest sun visors i can find, well, i just like to be a bit different!

Avon Skin-so-Soft for the no-see-ums. I use this over any spray w/deet. Along with a combination of garlic pills and vitamin B pills. I swear those buggers have a party the night before i arrive, sharpen their stingers  and get ready for my arrival. One time i had 32 bites on one foot. Been going to the VI for 25 years, and this is the only thing i can to to keep them at a minimum. Also, when laying on the beach, keep that sand off those feet!

Well, that's it for now.

I also am a mosquito magnet, so I avoid wearing too many smell goods on STJ but I miss them when I'm there cause I love smell goods!

My number one have to have beauty product is my Retro Leave-In Conditioner. I must have this despite the yummy smell. My hair is long and blonde and with all the sun, wind, sand and salt, it gets snarly.

Also have to have a 15 SFP lip balm. This is also a must in addition to 30 spf sprayscreen. Love the spray!

Here at home to remind me of my island home, my fragrance of choice is Escada. Love that stuff! My Bath&Body of choice are Cherry Blossom, Brown Sugar&Fig, and Tropical Passionfruit.

Oh and the Mentha Lip-Shine is the best lip gloss known to man! I swear I have a tube in every nook and cranny of my house, work, car, purse, you name it!

Mmmm...Smell Goods

How timely Vicki as I am currently waiting on my next shipment from Bobbi Brown to arrive. I love their perfume and wear it year around to remind me of STJ! Also love the leave in conditioner and use it all summer!

This summer they have a few new items out so I just ordered the Beach body scrub and bath gel. I also resupplied myself w/ the body oil - it is FANTASTIC in the summer!

I also LOVE (and stocked up because I think they have discontinued it) the John Frieda beach blonde cool dip shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment. It smells so amazing ... minty and fresh and clean!

And I almost forgot my FAVORITE sunscreen ... also potentially discontinued. Suntanicals! It smells divine and goes on like regular lotion.

I'll have to check out some of your picks!

I used Juniper Breeze by Bath & Body works while on my honeymoon (not on STJ but in Negril, Jamaica) and love that everytime I smell it takes me rightback there and its been almost 8 years!

I find I look much better after YOU drink a couple of double Mount Gay Cuba Libres at the Beach Bar.

I bring a 3 oz container of Nutrogena and a bar of soap (villa soap is usually scary stuff). I leave the razor, shaving cream and everything else at home.

Cheers, RickG
