[This post full of gratuitous whining and self pity is merely to provide more topics as Anthony requested - feel free to ignore]

...a four day weekend! Couldn't come at a better time.

Even though it's all been self-inflicted, this past month or so has been crazy!

I was recruited to help with coaching the local high school soccer team. I told them about my planned vacation and they still wanted me.

So, as of early October I began getting up at 5:00 every day so that I could go to work in time to leave early enough to get to soccer tryouts/practice. My wife runs the concession stand in her "spare time".

We left for STJ on 10/28 and returned late on 11/8. Up early on 11/9, then the season started on 11/10. Since then every weekday there has been either a practice or a game. Both weekends we've made the three hour drive to Gainesville to hang out with our oldest son (OK - to go to the football game, too). Sundays have been a blur of laundry, groceries, and buying items to restock the concession stand.

There was a game last night, there will be practice later today, then the kids are out of school for the break, and thus, no practices or games until Monday!

My brother invited us to come up to Tallahassee to spend Thanksgiving with them, but I declined. And, as soon as the bird is cooked I'll be reclined! For the weekend!

Well, Mr. Lovermont and I will be celebrating 18 years of wedded bliss on T-giving, so I'm thankful of that. I, unfortunately, have to work on Thursday, but I guess in this day and age, I'm thankful for that too. Many people out there would love to be working on any day, whether it's a holiday or not.

Lovermont

ps - I'm pretty doggone thankful that I'm going to STJ in two weeks too.

kids sports are exhausting- (ice time at 5 am? ice time at 9:30 pm, on a SCHOOL NIGHT?) -and I am always amazed that parents (or especially persons whose vested interest in these things have left the nest)--so Augie, I am thankful for folks like you!
have a great thanksgiving--rest up!!!

I am thankful that for the last 10+ years my husband has brought me to St. John....and it has meant the world to us...it brought us there in good times, and eased the pain in not so good times. It is "our place" to feel at home...and it is a place we'd rather be than in our very own home. That says a lot. I am thankful for St. John has meant to our marriage and our family...so blessed.
