Just curious, saw on Weather Underground that there is a big northern swell "event".
Anybody have a report?

There have been alerts all weekend for high surf and small craft warnings... continuing until Monday, 8 PM AST.
The Peter Bay Webcam has been dark for days, so no wave action (or other) to report from watching there.
Miss those on the spot reports the forum used to get.

Yesterday north shore beaches had surf up to the tree line and beyond! Hoping for a little more sand today. I'll try and keep y'all posted.

On Thursday (I think-I kind of lost track of a day or two), I was at Gibney standing in the surf. I'm 5'7". The water would drop down to my mid-thigh between swells and the crest would come over my head. It was both fun and a challenge to keep water from going into my beer. I won most of the time.
One of the local fisherman told me it was going to get worse.

oh wow, yes, this past weekend the waves at Rincon in P.R. were unbelievable on the cams, double overhead for surfing, like huge! Its been a bit smaller the last two days but still head high.
I just checked forecast for Cane Garden Bay, looks like the swell is from the north and will increase starting this coming weekend on Sunday and get really big around Monday. This will hit the north beaches of STJ also, Cinnamon Bay should be fun.
