We once again awoke to a beautiful day in Cruz Bay and decided that today’s workout needed to be a little less intense. The plan was to avoid hills but get in some running – the perfect spot would be Rock Ridge Road - aka Ruth’s loop as I like to call it. It is a ¼ mile loop that offers some good views and is relatively flat. We each chose to do our own thing whether it be running, walking or a little of each. The nice thing about this loop is that our car was parked nearby and we had water and a resting spot with each pass. Unfortunately, there were no sightings of the elusive Ruth or her sidekick Ron!
Once our daily workout was complete, we needed a beach! We chose to spend the day at Hawksnest and with our cooler packed and beach chairs in hand, we hit the right side of the beach. We spent our time snorkeling, reading, talking and getting to know each other better. The sun was shining and the water was the perfect temperature.

After heading back and cleaning up, we decided to try Cactus on the Blue for their half price appetizers. We were advised against going here, but we were not disappointed. We were seated at a table with a nice view of Cruz Bay and shared several appetizers. The food was delicious and the chef even came out to suggest a special salsa that we did not originally order. In addition to good food, the staff was very professional and attentive.
Following our appetizers, we enjoyed a few island beverages around Cruz Bay and then sat on the ferry dock to enjoy the music from High Tide. A great way to end another great day on St. John!
