So, if you are planning a week or so on the Rock...

How much real time do you spend planning, looking forward to...anticipating??? When does the planning begin...or is it always continous????

Or...let's not do the math...lol

It starts before we leave STJ on the present trip and goes on and on until the next trip..... it may only be checking the Forum (which is all a part of the planning) or the serious business of tickets and villas, or the fun part of planning meals and snorkeling..... but it seem that very few days pass without some thoughts and planning concerning STJ..... or is that just me! ?

Unquantifiable! But qualitatively wonderful!

Our planning usually begins the minute we step on to the ferry to make that sad return to St. Thomas in the first leg of the trip home from the rock. To be honest with you, it’s not really all that much planning. It’s just a simple decision of when we will be back. Send the email to where we are staying and we are all set for our next trip.

We are not the type to map out how we will spend our time while we are down there. Pretty much go with the flow and leave the hustle and bustle behind us. For us, it just makes the St. John experience so much more special. We have created some really great memories of just getting up and going wherever.

I start planning our next trip as soon as we return!! Researching villas, forum, etc. We do not however plan anything during our stay! We have a few things on our want to do list and if we do them fine, if not, we'll be back!! Sundays are for brunch at Miss Lucys and that's about as much as we plan!! I have a set schedule at home/work so vacation is down time!

The most time consuming planning for us is the selection of the villa. After that, it is a 15 minute discussion of what we will pack in our cooler (and shopping for it) and then making sure the girls' still fit their flippers.

No other planning, just decide each day where we are going. We usually might also decide on one or two new things to do that year. This year it is Sheila's Pot, Josephines greens and hopefully the Rams Head hike.

This year, literally it will be packing 2 or 3 outfits each.

I never really think of it as planning. More like anticipation. And it starts when we lock up the villa for the final time to head home.

Like some others, don't know if what I do could be considered planning but rarely a day goes by that I'm not on the island that I don't read both of the forums and check out the spicecam. We always go in February and we start looking at airfares about 9 months out and we usually start looking at villas about the same time.

We don't do any planning of what we are going to do until we get there. We know at some point we will go to Hawksnest and Waterlemon, have lunch at Candi's and have dinner at La Tapa.

One of my favorite things to do when on STJ is after dinner, sit outside me with a cigar and a glass of Cruzan single barrel, my wife with a cruzan coconut rum on the rocks and read Feet Fins and Four wheel drive and decide what beach we will go to the next day.
