Hello,

My best friend is getting married on St. John in May. Wedding at Hawknest at sunset, reception at Rumb lines, welcome reception at the beach bar. I need advice and recommendations for music. she was thinking a guitar player, playing as guests arrive (32 people) and while walking down the "isle". Price is a very important consideration as well as professionalism.

Boat day, there is 10-12 people interested in taking a day charter trip to the BVI, soggy dollar, pirates bite, and any other fun destination. I like Palm Tree charters myself but understand he can't accomadate 12 people. We could do 2 boats. The Wedding is May 7th.

Thanks for your input.

I can't help with the musician, but I highly recommend Born to Rhumb (borntorhumb.com) for the boat trip. Captain Kevin can take up to 12 and you will have a fabulous time.

I can't recollect the gentleman's name, but I almost had a pan player for our wedding on STJ. I think that fits the island much better than guitar. Perhaps Pia can help.

We also had 15 people on a BVI trip. We used New Horizons. I would not recommend using two boats, you want everyone together!

Check out Motor Yacht Cinnamon Bay. I think they can take 24 to BVI. Awesome, historic, elegant boat.

Our friends hired T-Bird - she was awesome! I'm sure if you call the Beach Bar, they can give you her phone number.

I can help you out with the Music. We have everything from a 6 piece groove band to acoustic duos and trios and also just solo classical guitar for aisle music. References and testimonials available. PM me for details

The Sadie Sea can take up to 37 people.
http://www.sadiesea.com/private.html We used them almost 3 years ago for a much smaller group (10) and had a blast.

I would check with some locals about the wedding at sunset idea and see if they have any tips about reducing the possibility of getting overrun by bugs. A sunset wedding sounds gorgeous but I think no-see-ums and mosquitoes make an appearance at sunset. Maybe use mosquito coils or lanterns?
