We are venturing to STJ in January for our second trip and are considering Willy T's...and Pirate's Bight..
Anyone out there with any opinions on them?
Husband and I are 40 and like a good time but we don't party ike rock stars..just looks like it would be a fun experience..

Well I'm 50 and my best partying days are behind me but we had fun. Pirate's makes a fantastic bushwacker. And I got video of me jumping off the top deck of the Willy T so that was cool. Couple it with snorkeling at the caves and Indians and it's definitely worth a trip.

Ditto what Grayson Dave said. Its a pretty, castaway setting, beautiful water, you have a boat and some island cocktails---its all good. The party reputation at Willie Ts is a bit overblown, at least during the day, in my experience. I did jump off the plank last time---I might be getting too old for that soon.

We went to Willy T's for lunch last summer, with a 5, 8, and 11 year old (they all jumped, but from the lower deck). They still think the best part of the trip was having lunch on the 'pirate ship'.

We are very early 40's also and I concur with the other posts. I'd say go for it.
We'll be there in January also - can't wait!

Thanks, y'all. At first we thought of renting our own powerboat for a day, but I've got an email into Palm Tree Charters,to get his take on it.

We were with Palm Tree Charters when we went. A visit to Norman Island is part of his favorite itinerary I think. Of course he'll go wherever you ask him to.
When you look at the cost of renting the boat vs the cost of the charter, I would say the cost of having a responsible captain along is definitely "worth it".

If you're into hiking, Spyglass Hill is a good one. You can pick up the trail behind Pirate's; the view at the top is sensational. And Pirate's is the perfect spot for a drink and a bite when you're finished
