so Tuesday was our Cinnamon Bay day...always love this beach, always love the snorkel around the entire cay. 2 cars in parking lot and a taxi or 2. this is good! We walk thru the deserted campground...whats going on? It was a mess! Heard that they had lots of flooding this last storm. Sign by the restaurant said that campground would be opening Oct.29???? This was 10 days away! I don't think so! Seriously, there was not a soul around, no one was working to clean the place up, no maintenance crews, nobody in the beach hut...everything was wet and moss covered, and muddy... just looked abandoned!I guess they arent going to open any time soon.
So we get to the beach and there are serious waves!!!! Waves that you could boogie board on! what the #%*&? there was a group of young fella skim boarding. That was a first for us to see that! We turn around and head to Maho.

2 cars at Maho! I love it! Set up shop and I just fall into the water. what? Its like milk! No waves, but visibility was so poor I couldnt see my hand in front of face! Relaxed a bit, ate lunch, floated in our inner tube, then headed back to Gallows. snorkeling was great there! Just a little cloudier than usual, but still the best for the day.Dinner at Morgans Mango. Again...able to walk right in and get a table! It was lobster night, and had a delish caribbean lobster!
A few comments about Gallows Pt...lots of renovations going on. As some of you know, there are units that have been renovated...kitchens all new, bathrooms gutted and and rehabbed...floors re-tiled. And then there are the original units, which are obviously less expensive to rent. Seems like eventually all the units will be up-dated. there was lots of activity getting the resort ready for high season. We peeked into one of the brand new units, in #6 building, I think...it was absolutely gorgeous! Everything was brand new...the kitchen cabinets, appliances, floors, furniture, bathroom, it was like sometthing out of a magazine! And of course all the units have wonderful views. We stayed in an older, lower unit. It was fine for us...the grounds are so well taken care of, and everyone working at Gallows were pleasant and nice. the peacocks greeted us in the morning while we were on the patio. Between 3 oclock and 5 oclock, the big old iguanas came out. there was one guy that looked to be ancient! It was fun to see them everyday. then there is the resident cat, Mask, who wanders from unit to unit. He has been there 15 yrs! I remembered him from last time! I think he remembered me, too! I can't say enough good things about Gallows. The little shop there has everything you could want ( I guess thats why the name of the shop is "Every-ting" ! From grocery items, to rum, to snorkel rentals, to setting up day trips, It couldnt have been any better.
Very convenient.
