We are trying really hard to only go carryon for our upcoming trip and I am going to mail a box of toiletries/suntan lotion/etc before we arrive. My question is this - if I mail to Connections in Cruz Bay by USPS priority mail how far in advance should I mail it? I don't want it sitting around forever but I want to be sure it is there too - what do you think?? Thanks in advance!

Only 23 more days!!!!!!!!!! Yeehah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make sure you do mail it by USPS Priority Mail (as you said you will) and give yourself 7-10 days (all my packages take at least 7 :) )

There is 2 types of "flat rate" Priority Mail boxes that cost either $8.10 or $8.95 - can't remember exactly as my puppy just "ate" my last one :) that you can use, one is square and one is long and narrow. I use the square one alot when I'm back Stateside and I can get loads of stuff in it - the last time I took it the person at the PO told me it would have been $26.75 to send if it was not in the "flat rate" box - gotta luv that :) give those a shot and if shipping shampoo etc just make sure you tape around the cap of the bottle and put in ziplocks so you don't arrive to a soggy mess :)

Hope this helps

Just to warn you, lavender, the mail service can be very unreliable here. Last month, I shipped two boxes -- one priority, one regular mail -- from the same post office in the states at the same time. The regular mail box arrived BEFORE the priority box!!! Just keep in mind that your box may or may not arrive before you get there.
Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I know what you mean by the flat rate packages - great idea! Hopefully this will work - I think I will mail by the end of the week - that should (hopefully!) make it in time!
