So I was trying out this recipe for a party and lo and behold...the kids immediately said "St. John cookies!"
Someone may have pointed this out before?
Anyways, they were surprisingly good! And VERY easy.

They are also called "pigs ears" in Germany.

I've never had St John cookies, are they anything like Jamaican Brownies?

Kygirl- I don't think they have them on St. John, they just look like some of the petroglyphs.
Birds- They are very boring compared to Jamaican brownies I am sure.

Kudos to your kids! That's a great comparison...and the cookies do look like the petroglyphs.

Omigosh! Those are almost perfect... and it wouldn't take much to make them perfect! I was trying to figure out how to make a petroglyph cookie cutter (seriously!), but these make that unnecessary!

I know Margo! I think while rolling them if you do a reverse fold for the first step it would turn out. You can also manipulate the dough on the baking pan.
While I was looking for the recipe I came across several savory variations...pesto I think and some others maybe one with a cheese in it.
Anyways, thought they were really cool. Best eaten the same day as cooked fYI. They are good later but some of the crisp is gone.
