Sunday Morning in Coral Bay

It's a hot and steamy morning on St. John... Lot's of moisture evaporating everywhere. Driving across both islands last evening the remnants of mudslides were everywhere. The roads crews did an amazing job of cleaning things up. Back at Cyril King airport, there's a huge pile of mud and rocks near the far end of the airport road that was dumped there from all over St. Thomas. Coming across Centerline Road on St. John the large expensive stone retaining wall and driveway near the Reef Bay trail is collapsed and covered with dirt and stones. Closer to home, the road is in pretty rough shape near the Donkey Diner. Overall though, things are in really good shape and I'm guessing the island will be really green even if it doesn't rain again in a while. Haven't noticed any mosquitos here yet. It's probably just a matter of time... I think today is a Maho Day...

Thanks for the update, Randy. With any luck, those mosquitoes got washed out to see and are now fish food. :D
Hey, if you happen to go by Deli Grotto, ask them to please answer their phone. I've been calling all morning. The phone is now ringing but no one is picking up. Thanks...and while you're there, get a really good sandwich!

It's good to hear there aren't any big problems at Reef Madness. Enjoy your time on-island! :D

Hi guys. Hope all is well at Reef Madness. We had some rocks come down into the driveway, but other than that we're okay. I worry about JuJu's place just below us. This summer her place (Sputnik II) flooded. They did put in a new drainage river behind Donkey Diner. Hope it worked. Looks like things are clearing up. Have a wonderful time down there!
