STT to Red Hook

We are arriving STT on an American Airline's flight from SJU at 5:33pm this trip. (Carry-on only)
We normally take a private taxi to Red Hook to get there as soon as possible. However, is there any way to get to RH in time for the 6pm ferry even with a private taxi?
If not, we may just go the cheaper route this time and take a normal taxi since we wouldn't make the 6pm ferry anyways.

I think not but I always ask the driver as sometimes they are more confident or they know the traffic at that time. Good luck!

Our first trip years ago we just missed the ferry and had to wait an hour for the next one. Not so bad now that the new terminal is up, but back then we were a bit nervous just standing there for an hour. I just thought we would save a little money if there was no way to make the 6pm and weren't in a hurry.

I doubt it. Even if they "shoot the hills".
Your best bet is to aim for the 7pm and save your sanity.

BTW-- might I suggest keeping a flashlight handy and accessible? You never know!

My advice is to get on Island Time while on the plane, stroll to a taxi, relax at the terminal with a cool one and watch the boats in the harbor. You are on vacation. Start it ASAP.
