Total Chaos!

That's about the best way I can describe the house right now!
We're in the middle of the last minute stuff. My daughter still hasn't bought a new bathing suit or any shorts. She just can't find any that she likes! She's only been to 40 or 50 stores! Geez...
I just finished roasting the coffee for the week (Brazil FT Organic Poco Fundo in case you're interested) and I have a couple of last minute things to pick up at the store. I printed up our itinerary and contact info for the dig sitters (my parents) and my daughter's friend's father, and I've checked in online for the flight in the morning. Now if anyone can do anything about the weather in Chicago tomorrow, that would be a big help

the forecast is for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Hopefully they scatter away from O'Hare. I hate flight delays.
Otherwise I think we're set except for the final packing. We land tomorrow at around 2:00 PM STJ time and we're planning on hitting the 3:00 ferry out of CA. Fall back is the 4:00 out of Red Hook. I'll try to write a message in the sand on the web cam but the family will probably be too embarrassed and will drag me away
Talk to ya all in a week or so! I don't think I'm taking my laptop with us since Moonsong doesn't have high-speed access.

We'll be watching for your trip report. I envy you your spring trip. We usually go in April/May but are waiting this year until June. We're down to 74 days and counting. Have a wonderful time (we know you will). Travel safely and use lots of sun screen.

Ron, you are hard core - coffee roasting, competition barbecue - are you sure you're not a homebrewer? We'll look for you at 3:45 on the webcam.
Cheers, RickG

RonL - I see you mentioned coffee for the week. Do you bring it down already dripped?
We like our coffee cold dripped but don't want to have to bring our Toddy down there with us. With the liquid rules now, how are you bringing yours down?
Thanks,
nothintolose
p.s. have an AWESOME trio! We will miss your food porn while you are gone!

No... I'm not a homebrewer, but I've thought about it

My BIL is a homebrewer and I am his quality control department.

18. She just came home after another day of shopping and she still doesn't have anything! She has an old suit so she's not stuck, but, again, geez...

I like cold drip, too, but for this trip I'm bringing whole bean and my hand grinder. Moonsong has a drip coffee maker and I have a supply of filters (both cone and flat bottom just in case). I normally drink espresso, but I'll suffer with brewed coffee in paradise
Gotta go back to packing! I may have time to check in later. We're going to try to crash early since the car comes to pick us up at 4:30 (AM!)

I think I'll be wearing a striped short sleeve button-down shirt and tan zip-off pants (hopefully with the lower leg part zipped off!
Ya can't miss me!

Ron,
Have a great vacation! I know what you are going through, we brought four teen-ager girls to Ocean City Maryland last August. One never did find a bathing suit, no she did not go nekked, she wore her shorts and a t-shirt.
