Our flight arrives at 3:22, then we need to get our luggage, pick up the rental car and make our way to the ferry dock. Will we have time to make the last barge?

According to a schedule I looked at, the last barges leaving Red Hook leave at either 6:15 or 7:00. You should not have any trouble making those. If it was 5:00 you might be cutting it too close.

Thanks. And I read correctly on another thread, I shouldn't pay the roundtrip fare in case I use another company on the way back, correct?

That's the strategy I use. One way fare means that I can go back on the next available barge as opposed to the next available one from a specific company.

We bought the round trip ticket and saved $15.00. One barge company has two barges, so we didn't have to wait around. That was two drinks at the beach bar.

Our DL flight arrived at 3:40. We got our jeep from Budget, grabbed our luggage, and were on the 4:30 ferry!
