Do you folks from the DC area know of any nonstop flights to STT? I'm looking at the early part of Sept. when my family will be going....son and daughter-in-law live in DC.

We will be flying out of Rochester,NY with only one stop....I can't believe that I'm not able to find a nonstop from any of the three DC airports. :? Am I missing something?

Thanks....mia

I've never been able to find anything nonstop to STT from DC. In my experience you get a stop in either Miami, Atlanta (Delta) or San Juan (AA).

If you do find one I would be VERY interested in knowing the airline and route.

United runs a non-stop from IAD to STT on Tuesday and Saturdays seasonally. September is low season, so unlikely to see direct service. USAir has non-stops from Philly in-season, again iffy. USAir seems to be routing East Coast traffic through Charlotte.

For 1-stop trips SpiritAir, USAir and American usually give the best rates out of DC. We fly all three and go for the cheapest fare.

Good luck!

Cheers, RickG

Thanks RickG - I've never flown in-season and thus will likely never see a direct flight. How nice would that be though. Do you know if the Philly nonstop is just seasonal? I have a friend in Philly who we may go w/ on our next next trip (trip after this one) and we could easily go out from there.

FF, last year when I booked my honeymoon flight we were booked on NS flights from PHL to STT but a few months later they changed the route to stop over in Charlotte. This was in Ocotber.
This year we are going the day after Thanksgiving and the flight down stops in Charlotte but for now the return (on a Sunday) is NS.

Hi Flip Flop, we are on a flight originating in Boston that goes non-stop from Philly on May 19th--off season. I think I heard that USAir has a non-stop from Philly every Saturday.

We flew USAir from New Haven to Philadelphia the beginning of Feb. and my husband leaves on Monday on the same route. Phila. to STT. I've also flown this in the summer. Sometimes when there is a time change we are routed through Charlotte but most of the time we go through Phila. whether it's from New Haven or Hartford.

I think there may be one from BWI to St Thomas non-stop - US airways?

Thanks to all for your input....guess it's a nocando for a nonstop from DC to STT in September.

I did find an AA flight out of DCA(5 minutes from son's home) to STT for $317.70; the price includes all fees and taxes....only hitch is it flies into IAD on the return rather than DCA

After further searching I found a US Air flight in and out of DCA for $321.20...also inclusive.

The American flight stops in SJU or Miami...the US Air flight through CLT.

In your opinion which is the best route....which one would you choose? Through SJU or MIA versus through CLT?

Another good search engine is www.mobissimo.com

I'd choose any route other than the one through San Juan. I have not personally made that connection but have heard many a horror story.

Have flown United nonstop in June from Dulles. But no such luck this year. US Air through Charlotte for us. If you can do it, the best connnection we've made is through Miami.
