Yup, especially since most insurance companies will not pay out . Most require you put the boat on the hard or take it below a certain latitude during H season.

That poor boat called Chowderhead. It's toast.
And that one that's upside down, ugh.

maybe not, if it hasn't been holes, just sunk, they can pump it out to refloat. However everything inside is probably toast, all electronics, engine etc.

I feel awful for those boat owners! Looks like the Westin lost the roof to the beach cafe, too...

Oops- posted that on the wrong string- had looked at the Westin St. John shots and somehow replied on this one. These from the BVI are MUCH worse. Wow. Anyone know about Anegada? Hoping everyone is OK.

Anegada was hit hardest of any of the VIs:

Oh, no- what a mess. I am really hoping Gaston steers clear so they can start to clean up.....

Yeah the eye passed just north. Lotsa damage.
Oh man thats a big hit on Cow Wreck, although would not have been surprised if it had been even more flattened.
Before (mine Aug 06) and after (Walker aka BVI pirate) from almost same spot.

Some downright frightening hurricane Earl video shot by the owner of Neptunes Treasure on Anegada on the opposite side of the island from Cow Wreck.
Neptunes is a delightful place we stayed a few yrs ago in 2 of the rooms located on the 2nd floor of the two story building shown in the video.

A “before” photo from that trip probably taken from out on the dock that was located in front of the property the video is shot from.
