I see that Tortola got slammed. Any word on JVD?
Also I see that TS Fiona is winding up. Hopefully NOT a one-two punch.
Folks need time to re-group.
Hang in there!

just heard that Fiona is supposed to go a couple hundred miles north and still be a TS when it passes the Leewards.

There has not been any talk on the BVI boards about Jost at all.
The webcam at SDB is back up and the beach looks pretty good, so I am guessing that they fared pretty well.

Saw a FB comment from White Bay Villas and Seaside Cottages that they fared well, no damage to any of the villas and cottages... a lot of wind and rain and now a mess to clean up.
That is good news!
Brief look at the Soggycam showed the hammock still "upright" and the overturned boat still in place... many palm fronds around.
... have been hearing in a variety of ways from many on the islands... so far no reports of major damages (some beautiful boats sunken or grounded though), injuries, or loss of life which is the best news.
From our minimal hurricane experience in Florida and Virginia, clean up does take time, money and much effort...
keeping all in the islands in caring thoughts.

Gromit,
This from TTOL site.
Hi everyone, internet is back but I'm afraid the news from JVD is not all good.
Sydney's peace and Love took the worst danmage, the roof to the open bar was blown off and the place is a MESS!!
Rudy's dock was destroyed, Abes dock was badly damaged, the barge is on the beach, JVD scuba lost 2 boats (sunk)
White bay beach was badly eroded but that will comne back!
I AM glad to report that there was no injuries!!
We lost a lot of trees and the place is a mess, but we are cleaning up now!!
I will post pics when I get more time
We still dont have power or phone connection as yet,
Derek

Wow! We have been blessed not to be hit directly in a few years here on the coast of NC. I really feel for them. I hope they will bounce back quickly!
