beach erosion

Now that it seems everyone is okay (though I know there is a long road ahead to repair all of the damage), I have a question about beach erosion. They all took a beating obviously but question has to do with regenetaion. Do the wave and current patterns end up restoring the beaches? I also hopedmy faveorite palm tree on Salomon survived!!
