The Surfing in a Hurricane Tour has been postponed one day.

Delta just called to tell us that our flight tomorrow morning from ATL to STT was canceled. First they told me that I could not go until Thursday. After I called their attention to my status, they found seats on the Tuesday morning flight.

If you are planning on flying on my flight tomorrow, call Delta!

If you are on another airline, see if they made a change.

Thanks for your comments, but our problem is insignificant compared to those who are on island right now.

I have a seat assignment for my wife, but I still need one. Delta is far more likely to accomodate me than they are to do so for her.

Two years ago this time (last week before VA schools start back post-Labor Day) we were in St. John. I think our dates were August 23-30th or something.

I wonder if your flight will still go as scheduled on Tuesday. Keep us posted. I hope it works out for you Jim.

Thanks everyone for your concern. Delta is acting like they will get us on the Tuesday flight, but I, like you, have to wonder if the flight will actually be able to go. It depends on how quickly Earl leaves and the damage to the airport itself.

Where are you staying this time?

The one piece of good news for you is that everyone I know on-island has told me that 'it is very weird but right after a hurricane, the weather is drop-dead gorgeous.' Guess because the hurricane sucks all 'the bad' out of the atmosphere!
