All packed and ready to go - Ritz and STT - Tuesday

Another beautiful day dawned on Tuesday which meant beach day!

After breakfast we headed to the beach which we practically had to ourselves. The Concierge told us that when we checked in the resort was at 80 percent occupancy and by Monday it was down to 38 percent
.
The light and soft trade winds that we know were blowing on Tuesday which meant no rain!

We spent the morning into early afternoon doing what we all love best … reading books, soaking in the view and relaxing in and on the water.

DH is NOT a beach person although he LOVES being on the water and in the islands... This is roughing it for him

DD and DH took out a two person kayak, a two person pedal boat and then the three of us took out the Hobe. Quite a different ride given that we finally had some wind!

After playing in and on the water we headed to the Club Lounge for lunch and to enjoy a few adult beverages while reading and taking in the view.

Back to beach until the early evening … a perfect day!!

With no real plans for dinner we decided to stay on property and try out the restaurant Coconut Cove which is on the Club Resident side of the Ritz property. We had a nice leisurely stroll along a paved and lit path. We walked around the pools and buildings to get a feel for the fractional ownership side of the property. It looked lovely from what we could see.

It was just our party of three and another family of five at Coconut Cove. We listened to two local musicians as we watched the Lady Lynsey sail back into the bay and the lights of St. John come on. We then watched the crew secure the cat on its mooring ball in the bay.

We skipped appetizers and went with entrees since we had a drink and some snacks in the lounge.

DD ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi, DH had the ribs with mango barbeque sauce and I went with a grilled chicken Caesar salad. While the food was good, the service professional and the atmosphere delightful we wouldn’t hurry back to the restaurant. It is very expensive and there are way too many options in Red Hook and a short ferry ride away on St. John.

We took a leisurely stroll back to the hotel side of the property and called it an evening as we had a day of sailing in front of us!

Love all of your sailing talk- we are big sailing fans, too. I love to watch the sailboats in action (when I can't be on them). Sounds like ya'll had another awesome day!

PS- my hubby is just like DH- loves to be on boats and around the water, but not a huge fan of sitting on the beach (prefers his beer in a bottle and harder to read his book)- always have to talk him into beach day ;-)

You're welcome XOXO!

This trip definitely was different than any other we have taken on STT or STJ. It had something for everyone in terms of fun

Sounds like our DHs are from the same mold! I too enjoy watching boats sail by even if we aren't on them!

Many of our trips to the USVI and BVIs have been bareboating/charters as well as renting villas on STJ. Hotel stays have been for one or two nights as a stop/start point.

This really was a great way to end the summer for us!

Thanks again for the pictures. Your report is great. We will visit our son (works at Club Lounge at the Ritz) in November and this just makes me want to go to the islands sooner. Anyone that stays at the Ritz in the future, ask for my son Steve to help you out.
