....on that sad deflated yellow dinghy I always see tied up at the dock near the ferry? Who does it belong to and why don't they fix it or get rid of it? I'm sure it can't be used in that condition. Just wondering....

Maybe we should make up some stories about it....like it was shot up by the Coast Guard when they were chasing a gang of chicken rustlers???

There are just some folks who do not need their boat on a daily basis.

I know the story....but it seems like a shame to say so since I think made up stories will be much better. I'll post the boring facts tomorrow

I have wondered what the story is there, too....

It's Ocean Runner's dinghy. They've had it for awhile, got it used, but as you can see, it's had better days. Mindy and her husband came up with a way to salvage boats like this and they made one attempt already. Half of it worked, half of it failed. I would expect them to give it another go sometime soon. I think they may be on vacation right now, haven't seen Mindy in the past couple of weeks. Keep an eye on the sad old boat...maybe she will get her float back! The funny thing is, they used to motor it around like that. I would giggle every time I saw them power her up and take it out to the powerboats. It just looked ridiculous.

Thanks Julie - Yes, that is a boring story compared to chicken rustling or being attacked by a great white shark, but at least I won't have to wonder about it anymore. I can't believe that poor thing can move through the water without scooping up about 50 gallons everytime it's used!

I'm just glad they dragged it off the beach I had to walk over it every day to get to my office. She's a sad sad sight!

A few weeks ago some people did repair the yellow, deflated dinghy. I was so excited -- watching the progress on the Spice Cam. But, after after a few days it was back to being deflated again.

I did not realize how long it had been in its deflated state until I was looking at photos I took on island in March -- there was the deflated dinghy.

I'm glad to know I am not the only once concerned about this.

Hahahaha!! You know we've been checking the Spice Cam ALOT when we can recognize a change in the dinghy's!
