8:05 am flight out of STT

I know this has been addressed but I've never paid attention. Is it possible to make an 8:05 am flight out of STT? Leaving from STJ on the 6am ferry?

I'm more agressive than most in cutting it close at the airport, but I would say no. I have done this from STJ with a 9 AM flight, but last year we had an 8 AM flight and I stayed on STT the night before. One caveat: if you're feeling like a high-roller, you could charter a private water taxi from STJ to Red Hook that leaves at 5 AM.

You know what Iowaguy that's not a bad idea. Not cheap but I really don't want to do our last night on STT!

Check Pia's previous posts on this subject. I think she's said that if you were doing carry-on only, and have already checked in on line and have customs forms filled out and ready to go that it's POSSIBLE but tight.

You'd have to be carry-on only with all paperwork done ahead of time, have a private taxi waiting for you at Red Hook and all the planets would have to aligned. I personally would not risk it.
I would suggest that you hire a private water and land taxi. That's what our daughter and SIL did last trip. You'll need to leave STJ at 5AM but it beats staying on STT the night before your flight IMHO.

Sorry but no or put it this way, I would not risk it at all. If you take the 6am ferry you will be at the airport between 7:00am and 7:20am - yes I have arrived at 7:20am one time (and never before 7am)and I almost couldn't check in for my 8:35am flight (the desk check in "ladies" were being very mean that morning) I have taken the old 8:35am AA flight by taking the 6am ferry and will be risking the "new" 8:20am flight in September and I am already stressing as I will have luggage to check.
Hope this helps

Do you already have your flights? I am assuming that you do. If not, it would be a lot less expensive and chaotic to choose a different flight than getting a private water taxi.
I wouldn't want to spend the night in STT either. Getting everything organized and packed--then doing it again the next day really isn't ideal.

I have not booked the flights yet! I think I'll spend the extra $30 per ticket ($120 for all of us) and take a later flight. It looks like the private water taxi would be $200 and really who wants to get up at 4 am to return home???
THanks for the input!

But 920 would be totally doable. Right? Just found one for $350 rt.

What a great price (imo) and 9:20am is easy on the 6am ferry

Great! Thanks Pia.
I can't wait. 234 days!
I figured the price might drop another $50 or so per ticket but not super likely. More likely it would go up $100 or so bucks!

I have made the 8:35 with carry on before but was stressed each time. Not worth it, especially if not travelling alone.
We enjoy staying for a night at the BW Emerald Beach Resort. Right on the beach, cool tiki hut beach bar, and decent food. And since you are right there at the airport, it makes for a leisurely morning. Rates are about $155/night off season and usually available.
