Hey guys- need help! We brought 2 bags of kids paperbacks down with us in the hopes of donating to the Sprauve School. Called them several days ago but no response. Summer so I'm sure they are not in much yet. Any tips or ideas on where to donate these books to one of the schools here? Just have one day left tomorrow. Would hate to take them back home- really thought they could be of good use here. HELP! Thanks!

I collect for the school and Christmas presents for the kids so I will be more than happy to take them for you. I am not in the kiosk tomorrow as I (we) have to go to St Thomas but if you want you can drop them off at St John Properties (upstairs) and leave them for les and we will pick them up when we get back (or Monday when he is back in the office)
Thanks so much
Pia
ps: I know Ruth has collected as well so maybe if she reads this message tonight she might be able to come to your recue as well - either way the children will thank you

Thanks so much Pia! Whew! Should have just asked you about it today but totally slipped my mind until tonight when I saw those bags sitting there. Will bring them into town with us tomorrow afternoon and will leave them in Les' office unless Ruth takes them. Thanks again!! You're the best!

Hey Pia- we got in to town later than I wanted today and couldn't find St. John properties so the girl at the kiosk was SO KIND to offer to store the books until you could come back and get them. Please tell her thanks so much from us! And thank you for taking them. Hope the kids enjoy them. They're primarily for young readers and learners- kindergarden, 1st grade..... we'll bring more next time! Take care.

What I really loved was the kids being involved in it. They knew there were a lot of books they had "grown out" of, and they would be really appreciated here. More of a connection than just taking them to 1/2 priced books. They helped carry the bags and hand them over. Only thing better would have been if we were here during school and could have taken them there ourselves. Maybe next time. Again, thanks Pia!
FinsUp (btw I LOVE that name)- another thing we did is bring treats to the dogs and cats at the ACC- if you like animals and want to support the ACC, it's another fun thing to do! The girls loved the visit there.

Your welcome
Dyanna called me as soon as you left them to let me know - no problem I will take them to school as soon as they are back from summer vacation.

I would love for my kids to be involved in something like this in November. What would be most helpful at that time? (Maybe I should make a new post??) My kids will be 16, 14, and 8 at that time.
