know many of the board members are looking for that special villa. ran across one that may warrant a look/see during my recent search for early aug trip. didn't work out for our trip but for those looking for a new upscale in vge with 2 bedrooms, great room and pool on same level (plus 3rd bedroom on second level) take a look at vista cielo at http://www.vrbo.com/309373 and http://www.usvihomerentals.com/

don't normally mention villas w/o personal knowledge but this one looks really nice and has some great intro rates. i had several pleasant and informative contacts with owner who is an experienced builder of several luxury villas on stj i know of. don't know guy's last name nor have any financial interest for mentioning other than the villa "looks like something a lot of folks maybe looking for".

mary beth, on google earth measurer, i'd say 200 yds as the crow flies though by rd probably a mile apart.

Thanks papabou! We saw this one when it was under construction and I was curious about how it turned out. Looks nice! Glad ya'll had a good time for #13!

Is anyone familiar with other villas in Virgin Grande Estates? I have Blue Papaya booked for a week in November and I can't find any reviews anywhere. Has anyone seen even the outside of this one? Is the whole area as nice as it looks on the websites? It certainly seems like a convenient location. This is our fourth trip and I'm hoping to find the kind of villa that we'll want to return to every time.

Hi Lindy! The only house we have rented so far (we usually stay at the Westin) was in VGE this past February- Kalorama. We really like the neighborhood. Yes, it is nice- lots of great houses in there and the sunset views over GCB and out to STT are spectacular. Very quiet in there, and I think most of the new construction that was near Blue Papaya is done (they were building two new houses just below it, if I am thinking of the right house). I think I know this house and the outside is beautiful! In fact we have talked about looking into that one for a future rental. Here's a link to a site with a few outside pics:

VGE is pretty convenient to get to- although Gift Hill Road can be torturous. Most of the time we took a left out of VGE, passed the fork in the road and headed towards Centerline to avoid the major switchbacks- no matter where we were going. All in I think ya'll will love it there- we did! Enjoy.
