hey all....1 week countdown! So now I get to "worry" about the weather and start to pack. Then I can't forget our skeeter friends waiting to greet us. Anyone have any insight on the skeeters recently?

last night I got some bites when by the pool at the Westin- but in my experience they always seem to a little worse when we're at the Westin- will check it out over the next few days and let you know! We did bring a BIG bottle of spray, though....

As of late last week, it was getting buggy in the mangroves near the beaches...especially Salt Pond.

Oddly, our house had a TON of moths on the deck at night. We played "musical lights" to pull them to the other side and away from us

Get the new Off repellent disc. Its battery operated and works..I used it Asia. You buy refills. Bring batteries...they are expensive there.

We were there 7/28 through 8/4. The skeeters were there but not that bad for most of the week. The worst day was on 8/2 around 5:30. We stopped by Annaberg for the newbies on the way to dinner and the skeeters were horrible! The quickest walk about ever. They were on us in droves, hundreds of them. Don't know if it was the location, time of day, etc. but we were running back to the car, trying to get them off. Of course, we brought them into the car and spent about 5 minutes of driving trying to get them out. Never seen anything like it (and don't want to repeat it). We took Deet wipes and the Off Fan which helped at dinner around our feet.

Went up to Peace Hill today and expected bad skeeters- but not bad! Were also fine in the mid to late afternoon at Hawksnest. Have some bites but not noticing any swarms... so far so good....

We're there in 2 weeks, i'm more worried about tropical depressions and hurricanes than skeeters, but still, i would say, they eat me up, while the rest of the family is bite free, must be the Cruzan running thru my blood...

I agree, Olivia's Dad..when I was 2 weeks out there WAS a tropical depression and tons of rain....after the rain tho'.....come the skeeters. So now I am on skeeter count. Looks "ok" for now...

fingers crossed for us both! 4 days to go...
