USVI-On-Line

For those of you that have trekked it up to these ruins...how long did it take you and is it a hard hike?...I love the pics of the view from up there...we will have 2 kids and my mom in tow...

Easy ten minute hike to the first ruin/lookout battery. About another 10 minutes for the path to the left and the Windy Hill main house ruins. Well worth the walk if it has been cut back recently. Lots of wildflowers at main house area.

Just want to point out, as I'm sure i have before on this forum: this is NOT called Windy Hill. The ruins may be called the Leinster Estate house, or the Murphy Estate house, or the Reform School, but somebody mistook this for another site (high above Maho Bay) and mis-ID'ed in a guide book a couple of years ago.
As for the time, it does depend a bit on the temperature, but 15 minutes to the top should do it.

I think these map links are in the right places, it is ~ 5 minutes from the bottom to the first ruins and another 5-10 minutes to the upper ruins...the ones at the top are awesome thw lower ones aren't much to see really. Take a picnic to the top...great spot!

I remembered there was something in question as far as the name...I couldnt remember what it was called..."Hence the name of this thread"...lol

Thanks...I always enjoy looking at the maps...

Like others have said, it's pretty short. I walked up it in flip flops not really knowing how far it was and got there a lot sooner than I expected. Definitely worth it.

Yep, pretty short, easy walk. My 68-year-old father did it by himself while we were snorkeling.
