I notice STJ is getting some heavy rain this afternoon. Something really nasty is coming out of the drain under the ferry dock. Any idea what is going on?

HUGE rain, and there was a GIANT lightning bolt next to our villa! We went flying in the house and John spilled a half bottle of red wine on his white linen shorts running inside, haha! I told him not to bring any nice clothes! :D

But we had a beautiful sunset after all that excitement.

We were "stuck" at Maho during that storm (about 4 pm). While everyone left we went into the water to stay warm and "dry" and waited it out. About 30-45 minutes later it stopped raining and we had the entire beach to ourselves. Enjoyed one of the world's more beautiful beaches as our private beach till sunset. Beautiful!

We spent a great day on the water today in a dnghy until 4. The skies opened up after that while we were doing some shopping at Mongoose Junction. Hubby was hanging out at Ocean Grill and said it was pretty intense. I barely heard it in the shops! We did pass one lone car at Maho on our way back to our villa and I wanted to stop but we were pooped and starving!

A few swells on the water scared the other dinghy renters in early but we just made our way to Honeymoon Beach and enjoyed our last hour there in calmer seas.

More rain again today. The island must be so lush. There's been a lot of rain this summer so far.

I've learned that some of the best sunsets happen after storms move through.

I was on the phone with a villa rental company and the rain was so loud, I could barely hear them.

Another rainy afternoon on East End and dad wanted to go kayaking, oh well. Can hardly see the bay, though it seems to be letting up a bit.

What do you do when it rains in paradise?

We got off the beach literally seconds before the skies opened up this afternoon. Of course we got soaked heading into the house, but that's OK.

This morning was sunny though, and we had one of the best ever snorkles at Francis.

When it rains, John and I like to read books the most. I have read three books in the past few days.

What have you read, Becky? Anything you recommend? Sorry about the rain. :( At least it's rain in paradise...

Looks like it could be a good day tomorrow. Been watching the San Juan radar and it looks like the tropical wave is pulling off to the NW.
