"weekly" car rentals

I have been getting costs to rent a 4 door wrangler for our week long stay on St. John next Spring. So far Discount is only company to respond to my emails. I gave them my dates...7 nights...and he quoted me the weekly 7 day rate. I technically need the car for 8 days as I assume most weekly rentals would. When I asked about this he added another day on to the quoted rate. Then I finally called another company (Dependable, which was cheaper) just to see if the prices were in line adn again I got the "weekly" rate. When car rental companies quote weekly rates, does that typically include the 7 nights? I don't want to screw myself so to speak by saying I need it for 8 days if the weekly rental rates actually mean 7 nights.
Also, any experiences with Dependable. I like the fact that Discount responds to my questions but if Dependable is reliable I may go with them to save the additional $$.
Thanks

I'll be using Dependable for the third time tomorrow.
I rent for a week, which includes arriving and departing on the same day of the week, so yes, the weekly rate covers you during eight calendar days, if that's what you're asking.

Yes, that is what I was asking in my long winded way

We arrive on a Wednesday and depart on a Wednesday so I will book for one week. Thank you!

I've always rented from O'Connor and the rentals go for a 24 hour period. So, if you rent for a week (which is 7 nights( if you pick up the car on Wed at 4pm, you need to return the car at Wed @ 4pm.
Usually works out as you most probably will get on island after 12pm and you'll probably depart prior to that.
Wherever you rent, just be sure to let them know explicitly what time you'll be picking up the car. On our first trip, I didn't specify what time we were picking up the car (not until 4pm) and they had it ready at 9:30, which was a problem as we didn't want to return the car until 12pm on return day. It worked out in the end, but involved a small hassle that could have been avoided.

Will definitely provide the arrival and departure times. We rented from O'Connor's on our last trip and were very happy with them. Wanted to try the STT rental this time...
