Most Romantic STJ Beach...

My fiance and I are eloping on STJ on Saturday, July 7th. We've never been to STJ, so we can't decide on which beach would be the best to hold our little ceremony.
So I'm turning to the
experts..YES, YOU!
It will be early in the morning (about 8:45) and we'd love it if the beach was empty. Any tips?
As always, thanks for the advice!

Our favorite romantic beach is Maho Beach. We were married there 5 years ago by Anne Marie Porter. We will be back on island July 30th for 10 days.

Maho would be nice...

At that time of the morning most are empty. I would vote for Francis. It is quite lovely. I also like Jumbie - sure to be private but logistically could be challenging depending on how much stuff you are lugging. Gibney is also a favorite and closer to town.

I'd second Gibney, especially if you are worried about other people being on the beach. That beach is always significantly less crowded than other North Shore beaches. (I'm getting married there in June, so my opinion might be a little biased!)

I'd say Hawksnest would be great at that time of the day

I got married on Cinnamon Bay at that time and we were the only ones on the beach--very pretty, secluded, & romantic. It was so quiet you could feel God's presence.

Our wedding will be on Hawksnest Beach at 9am. I'm sure you will be happy on whichever beach you choose. The good part is you can always change your mind once you get to St. John and experience it for yourself.

All the Northshore beaches would be great that time of morning. But I'd prefer not to have a lot of moored boats in the background. Francis & Mahoe are so pretty, but we've noticed a lot more boats there the last couple of visits.
Gibney would be beautiful, then Hawksnest is easy access. Trunk is still my favorite beach, but only in the morning when it's not crowded.
You'll be happy with whatever beach you choose, what a wonderful place to get married!

Hi,
I would vote for Gibney or Honeymoon (Of course!)
I have seen two couples married on Hawksnest which is also very beautiful especially down by the rocks.

Wow! Lots of great tips! Thanks.
Our officiant had suggested Cinnamon or Hawsknest. I'm considering a few others that you guys recommend, too. Jan, I agree with you, that I'd rather not have a bunch of boats moored in the water--it kind of eliminates the feeling of being alone in paradise.
Jorge, you're right. Whichever place I choose will be perfect, cause I'll be with my sweetie!

Thanks again y'all!

We love Hawksnest...but you have to beware of the latrine "smells", or walk far enuf away down the the beach.

Ick! I'm sure we would be able to stoll some where more pleasant! lol
About Honeymoon and Soloman Beaches, how much of a trek is it to get to these two spots? I've heard that it's a "short walk" but other's describe it as a "hike." I don't mind walking a little bit, (it's just the two of us--nothing else to set up) but I don't like the idea of hiking in a white taffeta dress. I don't want my fiance to be turned off during our wedding cause I'm all sweaty and stinky!

My wife and I were married on Honeymoon Beach, so naturally, it's our most romantic beach. It's about a 10 minute fairly level walk from the Caneel Bay parking lot. Like most of the north shore beaches it's beautiful... Wherever you decide to go, you'll be right...
