Need recommendation for best map to navigate the roads and trails. The books (Off the Beaten Path, Feet, Fins, Four Wheel drive) have a few overall island maps and close ups of those topographical type maps. I need the real thing.

Does anyone have a favorite?? I may stop in our local AAA office to see what they have. Would love to have one in hand to peruse while waiting at airport but I know once on island, maps & other info will be easily accesible.

Think you can get a St John map once on the island at either the ferry booth or info booth right by St John Ruths store. It's a good one and we used ours the whole time.

Have a good time and enjoy.

You might even be able to get Pia to autograph it for you!

Another vote for the Trail Bandit. Especially if you'd like to explore the trails.

For driving, I always use the little map that you either find in the villa or get at the information booth. There are only three main roads, so it has all the information you need!

we stopped at the NPS visitor center and got a nice free non-cartoon map. the map is very clear with roads, trails, beaches, bays, reefs. nice for driving. the other side has fish/creature info. but the cartoon map from the dock was great for going around cruz bay.

have fun!
