Then we'll just have to settle for some colorful sunrises and sunsets!
Sahara dust doesn't choke out the mosquitoes by any chance, does it? (fingers crossed!)

How is the skeeter situation now? I'm hoping and praying the little blood suckers will be gone in a week or two. I hate the little varmits.

So how will This affect things? I've seen it mentioned before but I don't understand the implications. We're down in a little more than a week. Thank you!

The Sahara dust just makes it really hazy so your landscape and water pics don't look as pretty. But, you still get the sunshine!

It comes and goes, it may be hazy for a couple days and then it will be super clear for a couple days. So this time of year you just never know.

I arrived here on St. John on Tuesday. It was very hazy on Tuesday, but it seems to be clearing a little bit each day. The mosquitoes are really bad. I feel like I'm on an OFF commercial every time I step outside. You MUST spray before stepping outside. We even saw signs on the island that said activities were cancelled due to mosquisto infestation. If you spray every few minutes or keep submerged under water, you will be fine.

Yes this one is quite large (great for keeping the "H" away
) you can see on the map how close it now is so it probably should be here Monday or even late tomorrow is my guess (scroll down to the SAL heading on the link) There was a small amount of dust over us on Tues/Wed and that did indeed clear so we have had a few days without haze.

It's looking very clear on the Spice Cam as of this moment. I have heard that the Sahara dust makes for beautiful sunsets. It would be tough to make STJ look anything but purty. It's probably been just as hot and humid on the east coast this past week. And we got skeeters, too.
