USVI Forum Cookbook - Some Details
Posted: Thu Mar 15, 2007 8:32 am
Hi all,
Okay, I now have Anthony's blessing on soliciting recipes and proceeding with putting together a villa cookbook. The plan is to fill the book chock full of recipes from fellow forum members, along with villa vacationing ideas from the experts -YES that's us.
Food & Drink recipes for favorites at the villa
Ideas for making "in villa" dining special/romantic
What to bring from home
Where we can buy all the "specialty" ingredients
Pictures are appreciated. Also if you have a special or funny story that can go with the recipe please include it.
We are trying to keep the recipes simple (not a lot of ingredients) and "tropical", but we'll take any of your ideas.
All recipes should have been tested by you, and hopefully are a "villa favorite".
Any funny or not funny story you'd like to share about villa vacationing, or your experiences.
The cookbook will begin to evolve once I start getting info from you guys and start putting it together. I'll continue to ping on the forum for ideas, advice etc.
When naming your recipe please be creative, if you'd like.
We will also be asking for help in naming the book.
So here's what you do:
Submit any recipe, idea, or story to me: mds9@cox.net
Reference subject: RECIPE
Please give me your name & email address to respond. I will be back in touch with you; it will be a few months down the road though.
Here are the categories so far:
Appetizers
Beverages (Cold, Hot, Non-Alcoholic version incl w/recipe)
Breakfast
Lunch
Entrees (Meat, Seafood, Vegetarian)
Accompaniments
Miscellaneous
Deserts
For a Crowd
Pack a Picnic
Take-Out Meals
Menu Suggestions (Breakfast, Lunch, Entrees)
The feedback from all of you so far has been great! Keep the recipes, ideas, and feedback coming!
Jan (akaCharlie)
P.S. I did assure Anthony that I would solicit recipes and ideas on the forum, the rest of the details will be through direct emails with recipe/idea donors. I assure you guys as well; the forum is too busy for a lot of this!
