Cooler help!

Our trip is coming up in 2 weeks and I'm having cooler issues!!! I ordered a polar bear - I just ordered one that's too small.
Anyone out there ever take a cooler that was NON zip? How did you secure it? We thought about duct tape - but wasn't sure if that would make TSA happy!

I've read about people who sealed their coolers with duct tape and put a roll inside their coolers with a note to please re-tape. They didn't have a problem...said it wasn't even opened, but just in case, the tape is right there.

We use a hard sided cooler meant for keeping frozen food that has latches on it and then we secure it further with straps, but NOT locked. It looks kind of like a medical type cooler, like for body parts!!! We get a kick out of them asking us - what's in there??? And Ron's classic response is always "my spare liver" !!!!

I would not use duct tape, and I really can't imagine TSA resealing it for you - doubt that would happen!!!!

I got mine from ebags. Just go to their site & search for,"rolling coolers", "carry on coolers", travel coolers, etc. Many, many choices.

We've done this for big Thanksgiving trips. Remember you have to carry that big cooler!
We have the 24 can and 48 can sizes of the Polar Bear coolers. The 48 can is too bloody big. The 24 can makes a great carry on.

Want mine? I just need it back before July 24. It will hold up to 48 lbs of stuff (total weight).
It has wheels, soft sides, and zips up nicely.

PIP - YOU ARE A LIFESAVER! I've been looking at ebags - but I can't get it here in time!
YES!! Now - my only fear - what if it gets destroyed by TSA / Spirit? I know how critical stuff in that cooler is and I would HATE the thought of a trip ruined by some crazy people from Apex!

Delta and the bag people in STT have beat the crap out of the bag as it is. I was probably retiring it from Caribbean travel after this trip.
PM me if you want to borrow it.

I cheated - I just took my collapsable cooler, and out it in the bottom of my suitcase. If I didn't have the room, I just would have given the cooler its own case, and that way it has another layer of insulation around it, has its own set of wheels (although my cooler - got it from Costco - came with a detachable carrier), and I don't have to worry about it splitting open on the trip. You could even put 2 colapsable coolers in there, if you wanted!
Just a thought (plus I have tons of extra luggage!).
Keep Smiling!!!
