We are debating whether to rent fins for the kids or buy . I know Lowkey rents them...but is there anywhere else I can rent buy the week?

In addition to Low Key, there is Cruz Bay Water Sports in the Lumberyard. And there's a place in Mongoose that for the life of me I can't remember.......no wait, I think's it's Proper Yachts?? And then there's Crabby's in Coral Bay.

i use crabby's when we can. he's cheaper, has good info and i enjoy talking with him. not always in so call before going but has also allowed me to lv gear on return under the steps if he's out.

that said, if you have room in luggage and don't mind the weight, can buy decide gear for price of couple rentals. mail oder poses fit problems however.

I say buy. And we just brought along the ones the kids grew out of and left them at the villa.

It would be really cool to know where we could bring them so a local kid could have them. We tried to keep our eyes out for a kid that might fit them but no luck. Would have dropped by the school but we always visit in summer or over Thanksgiving.

I think we have just decided to buy and bring them with us. I can purchase decent ones for about the same price as a rental. Thanks anyway everybody....

I rent them at the Westin (even though we don't stay there). Fins are take up too much room in luggage. Also, you can rent a buoyancy belt there too, which works great for snorkeling kids(and ended up being used by the adults in our group too once we saw how easy it was to snorkel with it, much less tiring). I'd consider the buoyancy belt for your kids.
