Help.

After we spend the week on StJ, we're staying one night at the Frenchman's Reef (using points). there will be 5 of us, 4 adults and one kid.

I've stared at the hotel before and the food selections, if you ask me, leave a lot to be desired. Where can we find a nearby casual place to get dinner.

I've heard a lot of people sing the praises of Cuzzin's. anywhere else worth considering? I know we'll need a cab no matter where we end up. I do NOT want fancy. Good would be good. Fancy would be bad.

I seem to recall that RickG said CaptainJay took them to a place in Frenchtown that they really liked.

I have no idea of how far from your hotel that is, but looking for Rick's TR might be a good place to start.

I had lunch at Cuzzin's back in February and I think it would fit your requirements. Good, not fancy (but nice enough). Well-priced, I thought.

Here is the interior (taken with my phone, so the quality isn't as good as what is expected here!)

And here is my food: BBQ chicken, fried plantain, and french fries. And an empty bushwacker.

Along with RickG, I recommend Hook, Line & Sinker. Very casual and very good food & bar. In the middle of dinner 2 of us had to run to the airport to pick up a late arriving member of our party, and they actually re-heated our dinner when we got back to the restaurant! No problem, mon! :D

There's 2 places that I like that are really good and casual.

Hook, Line and Sinker on the water and if you're lucky you'll get to see a seaplane :o)

Lattitude 18. Really good food, really bad road to get to it. Pothole city. Live entertainment most nights (laid back) and on the water.

Based on our visit in March, Cuzzins is open only for lunch now. The food is really good though.

Hook Line and Sinker is looking good. It will all depend on how we all feel once we get to STT. We may just want to veg out at the hotel. Hopefully, we'll feel up to a night of laid back adventure on our last night on island

another vote for hook line and sinker--
i was travelling solo and they even arranged for an escort back to my hotel (the walk went thru a bit of sketchy turf) if i needed it--
and the food was really good!

Another vote for Hook, Line and Sinker. Casual, good fresh food and right on the water.

Hey Pip, check with Captain Jay and Mrs. Captain Jay, they often mention a place called "The Pie Whole", it's a pizza place and if they eat there, I'd suspect it's pretty good. :D

Here's a link that describes it: http://www.stthomasblog.com/?p=2104

Pie Whole and Hook, Line and Sinker are in French Town, on the other side of the CA harbor. I'm sure Capt. Jay would answer, but he's taking a long birthday and is probably asleep on his boat!

Another good spot closer to your hotel Is Yacht Haven Grande. There are three restaurants The Fat Turtle and W!CKED are fun. There are yachts to gawk at too and room to walk about. Definitely more tourist, where HL&S and Pie Whole are more local.

Cheers, RickG

Rick pretty well nailed it with his post. We have never had a bad meal at Hook Line or Pie Whole

Of course the Pie Whole sister restaurant Bella Blu gets my vote!
