Disappearing Century Plant?

There didn't seem to be hardly any century plants blooming last month while we were there. Always in the past when we were there in May they were abundant. I wondered about it and I found this post in STJ Life, If you go to the link be sure to open the photos at the bottom of the page:

I've always taken a few shots of them each trip. I think that this one was from 2003:

I love them but I've never actually seen one in bloom. great photo!

We have them here in Calif.... and even dug one out of our yard a number of years ago. They're pretty cool, unless they take over! :)

IN April we saw a bunch of them on the north coast of St Thomas.

Caribbean Christmas trees...
