Another Dull Day in paradise from Bert day 7
Posted: Mon Jun 14, 2010 7:49 pm
We started day 7 with a really pretty rainbow outside of our back door. Our deck overlooks the south shore.

We took that as an omen to go find a very pretty beach, so we went back to Hawksnest. We went back for a couple of reasons, one to lay around and soak up the beauty that is St. John, and we thought we’d give the snorkeling another shot. Well, the first part was spot on…..beautiful!
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/lO ... site"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBacA ... 7.JPG"></a>
What we didn’t figure on was the enormous crowd that showed up! There were people by the droves coming into the beach! Also, I don’t know what some folks think, or don’t think Just look at this:

I mean, why in the world would somebody beach a rubber dinghy onto Gibney Beach!?! What, you thought you saw something else? I didn’t even notice the eye candy until after I downloaded this pic…..uh, yeah…..
Anyway, Hawksnest is just perfect to sit on and soak up some sun and suds:

Oh yeah, and to do some serious noodling!
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/1- ... site"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBacB ... 9.JPG"></a>
Apparently, all the sun suds and fun take it’s toll, we found these beached one horned butt fish beside us.
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/2D ... site"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBagG ... 5.JPG"></a>
But, on to the snorkeling. We went to the small reef just yards off the shore, and found some decent snorkeling there:

<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Fs ... site"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBagF ... 3.JPG"></a>
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ky ... site"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBagG ... 1.JPG"></a>
<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/TB ... site"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_255pkid3BhE/TBagG ... 2.JPG"></a>
Affter we left Hawksnest, we went to Sun Dog in Mongoose Junction for lunch. Very good vittles, no food porn, we forgot to bring the cameras with us. Then back to the villa for some pool time, adult beverage time, sunsets, and a dinner I grilled called Tuna Steak A la Provencial. Ummm good!
Tomorrow, a day on the water with Capt. John Brandi and the Bella Palma. I hoppe we get back in time for me to file yet another live trip report.
Later,
-Bert
