A Unique Country-Rapper-Wedding

Our grandaughter Zipline married her long-time boyfriend Smedley yesterday. The ceremony was held at the small non-denominational country chapel they attend. The reception was on the chapel lawn. There were seven bridesmaids and the matron of honor was also mother of the bride! One of the roomates of the bride officiated. Everyone dressed in purple and green, some even had green hair and beard!

Zipline's 14 year old brother played a heavy metal version of the Wedding March on guitar. One of the bridesmaids sang a humorous version of the Frank Sinatra standard L.O.V.E. with special lyrics about the bridal couple. Then the friend and roomate of the bride, who is a Christian rapper, performed a rap he had composed with audience participation.

In a nod to the Mexican heritage of the groom, the outside buffet included a taco bar. No alcohol was allowed but you would have thought us all under the influence if you were driving by and saw us in a circle around "Big Mike" the rapper as he was calling out the moves.

edited to add: Forgot to mention that Big Mike had a life long ambtion to be a flower boy in a wedding so he preceded the two flower girls down the aisle with his basket and petals.
